Hens who are laying eggs require a quality light source and good uniformity to simulate their egg-laying and promote a calm and relaxed environment.
Important factors include the spectrum, the light levels, and superior uniformity.
Layers require warm spectrum with colors ranging from CCT of 2700K-4000K. While many studies have shown warmer color to be most effective, we have even seen solid success in large operations utilizing a balanced neutral spectrum of 4000k.
We recommend lighting design be completed to provide a uniform lighting field with averages ranging from 5-10 fc depending on customer preference.

ANIMAL LIGHTING/DAIRY
It has been understood for some time now that Dairy production increases significantly with long-day lighting.
LED lighting provides an additional boost due to its wavelength peaks that are primary in Dairy Cows vision. Lighting should be primarily "daylight" or "cool" lighting with peaks in the 450nm and 560nm regions. Typically we recommend lighting in the 5000-5700K range.
Lighting design should be performed to provide maximum uniformity and focusing on feed lanes an average intensity 20-30 fc depending on customer preference.
